The standard functions of true Windows Drivers by Seagull are powerful and flexible enough to generate high-quality bar codes and labels from almost any Windows program. However, standard Windows programs have no way to access many of the special "enhanced" driver functions that give BarTender access to the high-speed features found in most of today's high performance label printers. The "standard" functions of Drivers by Seagull ensure compatibility with the widest possible variety of Windows programs and the "enhanced" functions, when used with BarTender, offer high-performance printing features such as:

• Full control over printer's built-in bar code capabilities (instead of having to print bar codes as either a bitmap or a simulated bar code "font").
• Printer-based serialization.
• Downloadable label formats.
• Storage of the unchanging parts of labels in the printer.
• Caching of graphics and formats in the printer. (See important note.)
